“This is all about taking smart factories from talk to reality. And the industry can’t do that alone.”
This excellent point was made at the steering committee meeting of the MADE FAST workstream that focuses on digitization of production processes, and we think it’s spot on.
It also sums up why we were happy to host the meeting that brought together representatives from the academic world, MADE and industrial partners such as LEGO and Novo Nordisk for a full day of knowledge sharing as 12 Ph.D. students presented the progress of their projects.
The event included a tour of the CIM office and a presentation by our CCO Anders Meister about our contribution to one of the projects, the CATCH.AI IIoT platform. A presentation that sparked an animated discussion about how to avoid storing and getting lost in excessive amounts of data by being precise about data needs – and how the foundation for being precise is… well, data.
The MADE FAST innovation platform brings together the academic and industrial realms to the benefit of both and the meeting was indeed a testament to the magic that happens when experts in matters such as algorithms and advanced math meet people with hands-on experience from the so-called real world (whether that distinction makes sense is a topic for another day).
A big thank you to all the involved parties for an inspirational day.
